Dental problems are not always obvious, and pets can be very good at hiding discomfort. These are some of the common signs that it may be time to have your pet’s teeth and gums checked by a vet.
Bad breath
Persistent bad breath can be a sign of dental disease, particularly when it is accompanied by plaque or sore gums.

How often should my pet have a dental check?
We check your pet’s teeth and gums as part of their routine care at Blakehurst Vet, but some pets benefit from more frequent dental checks depending on their age and dental history. If you’re unsure, book an appointment and we can assess their mouth and recommend what’s right for them.
Does bad breath mean my pet has dental disease?
